Aalborg Energie Technik a/s Biomass Combined Heat and Power Plant
The combined heat and power (CHP) plant generates 20 MWe of electricity, and supplies the MDF and OSB manufacturer with heated thermal oil and flue gas for the drying process.
Besides traditional wood chips, bark, sawmill residue etc., the plant has extensive experience of combustion, using a wide range of A1 - A4 fuels:
The plant utilises 130,000 tonnes of waste wood annually.
The plant was handed over in 2003.
In 2013, the availability was measured to 95% (8,300 hours) for the full CHP plant (latest available figures).
Swiss Krono and AET have a fruitful, close cooperation:
2004 → : Regular inspection
2004: Began utilising A3/A4 fuel, which required Inconel in the furnace
2007: Due to A3/A4 fuel an AET SNCR DeNOx plant was installed
2015/2017: Change/extension of superheaters
2016: Change of grate carpet and Inconel upgrade
2017: Repair of furnace walls.
2018: Installation of new safety PLC.
