Aalborg Energie Technik a/s Biomass CHP Plant
The biomass-fired cogeneration plant was built and is operated by the chipboard manufacturing group, FunderMax.
The plant burns uncontaminated wood, waste wood and dust from the chipboard manufacturing.
The cogeneration plant generates thermal oil and power for the chipboard production. Furthermore, the plant can supply district heating for 4,400 households and public buildings.
FunderMax is thereby able to reduce the CO2 emissions in the region by 18,000 tonnes/year. FunderMax strives to protect the environment with numerous measures.
The AET Biomass Boiler was completed and commissioned in 2006.
Even with the A1 - A4 fuel, the plant is able to operate up to 8,493 hours per year without any manual cleaning, which ensures a stable steam supply for the manufacturing process. In 2013, the availability was 97% (latest available figures).
