Aalborg Energie Technik a/s Biomass Cogeneration Plant

At the Pfleiderer Neumarkt site there is a biomass-fired cogeneration plant owned and operated by Pfleiderer AG.
The boiler plant was the second plant delivered to Pfleiderer AG by AET employees and was mentioned as Best Available Technology (BAT) in the IPPC report ‘Large Combustion Plants’ published by the EU in 2006.
The cogeneration plant annually burns 200,000 tonnes of contaminated wood, demolition wood, railway sleepers, saw and sander dust.

The Pfleiderer Neumarkt cogeneration plant is situated next to the factory and uses residues from the production in order to produce electricity and heat.
Increased Capacity to 100 MWt
The boiler plant was commissioned in 1997 for a capacity of 73 MWt.
In 2001 the boiler plant was increased in capacity to 100 MWt by AET.
AET designed, engineered, supplied, erected and commissioned the following scope:

Combustion system with spreader stoker and travelling grate
Dust burners
AET Dust Firing System
Boiler incl. superheaters and economisers
Combustion air system
SNCR DeNOx system
Feed water system
Water treatment system
Ash handling
Bag filter and lime injection system

Electrical installations
Piping and ducting
Insulation
Construction steel
Platforms and stairs
Instrumentation
PLC control and SCADA system.
